I enjoyed my stay in the cozy Queen Room, where the clean accommodations were complemented by kind staff who were always eager to assist. The location was great for exploring, and I loved having the convenience of a general store nearby. On the downside, the restaurant food was hit or miss at times, and the noise from passing cars was noticeable in the evenings. Still, it's a perfect spot for a short getaway.

We had an amazing time exploring the nearby coast and hiking the trails around the state parks. The access to the gorgeous river was a highlight for our family, especially with our dogs. The convenience of having a general store nearby made our stay even better as we could easily grab snacks and necessities.
My kids wished the room had a mini fridge for their snacks.

great experience but some noise issues
The cabins offered plenty of space with cozy furnishings, making our stay enjoyable. The on-site restaurant had delicious food, and we appreciated the convenience of the general store for last-minute needs.
Some noise from nearby areas disrupted the tranquility we expected.

Beautiful spot with great vibes
The place is stunning! Nestled among redwoods, it feels magical. Our room was perfect for 4 of us—super cozy and just right for unwinding. The bar and grill had amazing food and drinks too! A downside was the noise from nearby traffic. it sometimes broke the peacefulness.

There’s a good vibe at the Fernwood, with clean and comfortable rooms near the river. The general store and on-site restaurant add convenience, though the lack of air conditioning was an issue during the heat wave. Still, it’s a solid choice for a short getaway.

would definitely come back there
The restaurant and bar are awesome with delicious food. The back patio has heaters and amazing views of Big Sur. The Classic Quadruple Room was comfy and clean with a private bathroom and lots of space. Super cozy vibe overall and the cat on the patio is a plus!

I spent 1 night in a Queen Room and appreciated the amazing rustic atmosphere in the redwoods. The air smelled fantastic, a mix of lavender and sandalwood. The bed was very comfortable, which made for a good night's sleep. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. However, Wi-Fi was very poor and disappointing. I expected better connectivity, especially with the price I paid. There was no TV, which was fine, but a brochure of hiking trails would have been helpful. I followed a trail into the state park but faced a few branches down over the path, making navigation tricky. It's beautiful, but better trail guidance would definitely enhance the experience.

Couple looking for a nice getaway
We had a room right next to the general store, didn't hear a thing from the highway. First morning, enjoying coffee and a muffin on the front patio, honestly felt like we were in a different world. It was amazing.
It wasn't exactly cheap, but for the quality, we found it acceptable.

Nice setup near the river. Great location for hiking and fishing. Restaurant food decent but overpriced for what you get. Not quiet at night due to noise from the highway. Live music on weekends adds a fun vibe, though.
